Dominion, For Honor's most popular game mode, is getting a new, beginner-friendly variant when Starter Dominion enters the multiplayer playlist on December 4 until December 18.
What is Starter Dominion?
Starter Dominion has the same core rules as Dominion. Two teams of four Heroes do battle to try and secure three zones on the map. Capturing zones accumulates points over time for your team. Once a team reaches 1000 points, the enemy team will be "breaking" meaning that they will no longer be able to respawn. Kill the enemy team while they are breaking and your team will win the match.
In Starter Dominion, you'll be able to matchmake with friends, and any unfilled slots will be filled with For Honor's strongest (level 3) bots.

How is Starter Dominion Different from Dominion?
If you're new to For Honor or haven't played in a while, it can be a bit intimidating to jump into a match, so Starter Dominion levels the playing field as much as possible. While player skill level will still vary, no one will have an advantage because of something they've unlocked that other players don't have access to yet. The following features are disabled in Starter Dominion:
-
Gear Perks - Passive perks you get from gear acquired through play.
-
Feats - Passive and activated abilities that can buff you or nerf your opponents.
-
Stamina - A replenishing resource that is used while you attack and limits how much you can attack at once.
-
Revenge - A meter that accumulates while fighting more than one enemy at the time. Activating Revenge when the meter fills shields you and provides you with instant stamina.
Each of these features are customizable in regular Dominion and give more advanced players an advantage in battle. Without them, the only difference between players will be skill. Starter Dominion takes Dominion and simplifies everything.
When Can You Play Starter Dominion?
A limited-time mode, Starter Dominion will be available in two test periods. The first test is December 4 - 18, and the second test will be January 29 - February 12.
Starter Dominion is the perfect entry point for new and returning players looking to try out the intense, tactical battles of For Honor. For Honor is available on Ubisoft+, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC through the Ubisoft Store, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
