Ready to dive into Rainbow Six Siege, but not sure where to start when it comes to unlocking all of the Operators added over the course of the game's nine-year (so far) run? The Ultimate Edition is the quickest way to overcome that dilemma - it unlocks more than 50 Operators from Years 1-8 from the jump (and includes the Disruptor Pack with cosmetic bundles for Nøkk, Warden, Frost, and Maverick). And the quickest way to get the Ultimate Edition is with a Ubisoft+ Premium subscription, which unlocks it immediately for a fraction of its purchase price.
If you're already a Siege player, you already understand the strategic possibilities you'll be opening up by filling out your collection of Operators - a Ubisoft+ Premium subscription will deliver that benefit right away. If you're curious about the game but haven't jumped in yet, here's the brief: Siege is a tense, tactical 5v5 multiplayer shooter that pits Defenders - who can strategically use a limited number of barricades, traps, remote cameras, and other defenses to protect one or more targets - against Attackers, who carry specialized tools for disabling and destroying those defenses.
In these close-quarters confrontations, planning, teamwork, and communication are key to victory. Lethality is high, and destructible surfaces on walls, floors, and ceilings fuel a high-stakes back-and-forth chess game between the Defenders' fortifications and Attackers' destructive tools. And because each Operator brings unique gadgets and capabilities into battle, having more than 50 at your disposal creates a wealth of strategic options, especially when just starting out.
Will you learn to effectively wield Ram's BU-GI mini tank to automatically tear up destructible floors and make opponents vulnerable from above, or will you use Fenrir's cleverly placed Dread Mines to restrict rival players' sight and hearing and make them cough (thus giving away their position)? Gathering intel with Sam "Zero" Fisher's Argus camera, which can burrow through fortified walls and shoot lasers, could help you spot an enemy for your ally to flank, or you could lead the charge with Zofia's grenade launcher to blow holes through walls and stun the Defenders behind them. Every Operator can be critical in the right scenario, and discovering the countless ways to outwit and outplay your opponents is the beating heart of Siege.
You'll be able to experiment and discover which Operators and tactics work best for you in Versus AI matches that allow you to play as either Attackers or Defenders (either solo or with friends). Warm up your aim in the multi-lane Shooting Range, and then take on opponents in Quick, Arcade, and Standard matches with teams of other players. (You'll also be able to jump into special events and limited-time game modes like the Halloween-themed Doktor's Curse, running until November 6.) And once you've been at it long enough to reach level 50, you'll be able to take your favorite Operators into Ranked matches for some real competition.
What's more, thanks to Rainbow Six Siege's support for cross-play and cross-progression, you'll be able to use all the Operators unlocked with the Ultimate Edition on any of your Ubisoft Connect-linked accounts - so while Ubisoft+ Premium is only available on PC and Xbox, those Operators will be unlocked on any platform for which you own a version of Rainbow Six Siege (so long as you're subscribed). Additionally, while only the PC Ultimate Edition currently unlocks Year 9's Skopós - a Defender who remotely operates a pair of swappable robots - here's a little trick: Activating the game on any PC that can run Rainbow (even if not particularly well!) will unlock her for play on any platform.
