The Battle For Brooklyn DLC launches today in Tom Clancy's The Division 2, bringing a new narrative campaign with new missions, a new skill, new Hunter riddles, a new exotic item, and more to discover. The DLC is included in the Gold Edition and new Ultimate Edition (which released April 23) , and is also available for standalone purchase in both Standard and Deluxe editions (requires the base game).
Today also marks the launch of the The Division 2's latest season - Crossroads - which brings new seasonal modifiers and gear incorporating elements reminiscent of The Division, the game that started it all. Furthermore, The Division 2 is now available through Xbox Game Pass and Ultimate subscribers can unlock the free EMS Outfit for a limited time starting on May 29. To help encourage newcomers, players over level 40 who respond to in-game Calls for Backup will earn extra rewards for the next two weeks.
Battle for Brooklyn DLC
The new Battle for Brooklyn DLC takes place across two new neighborhoods - Brooklyn Heights and Dumbo. While some areas may seem familiar from the first moments of The Division, much of these neighborhoods is new for players to explore. The season is autumn, brightening up the tree-lined streets with fall colors for the first time in the franchise, and the story is set a few months after the events of the Warlords of New York expansion. No prior knowledge of recent seasonal storylines is required, so it's suited for both veteran and new players alike.
The fate of the Brooklyn settlement is in jeopardy as the relative peace of the borough has been shattered by The Cleaners. They have crossed the river armed with a deadly weapon called Purple Flame, which adds an armor-corroding effect to their fiery attacks that will force players to adapt their combat tactics. Previously spotted in a select few missions, the Purple Flame is now being mass-produced by The Cleaners and is fueling their invasion of Brooklyn. As they play through the campaign, Agents will confront The Cleaners head-on as they investigate the nature of this new threat and seek to shut down Purple Flame production, all while contending with the Rikers who have also added fuel to the Brooklyn fires.
The campaign spans three main missions (which take place off-site and introduce even more new environments), as well as four replayable World missions and two Story missions. The DLC comes with a level 40 boost, so players can access the new content right away.
Over the course of these missions, players will unlock the Smart Cover skill, a returning and revamped skill from The Division. Smart Cover enables players to reinforce cover positions so that they grant offensive and defensive buffs, as well as enhanced pulse resistance. The two variants - Precision Smart Cover for offense and Fortified Smart Cover for defense - will be available in PVE and PVP.
The Battle for Brookyln DLC also includes The Catalyst Exotic Mask, which grants bonuses related to dealing and receiving status effect damage and is very impactful when facing the new Cleaner threat. Furthermore, the Catalyst features a dynamic visual effect that glows more brightly when the player is moving and cools when the player slows down, evoking the stoking and subsiding of a fire. There is also a new band of Hunters for players to hunt, posing eight new riddles and eight masks as unlockable rewards.
The "Crossroads" Season
In addition to the DLC launch, today also marks the start of Crossroads, a new season that is free for all players who own The Division 2 and brings a suite of new challenges and rewards. The Manhunt Scouts this season focuses on the deep-cover retrieval mission of a Division asset embedded in the Sokolov Concern organization who needs to be extracted. The seasonal Modifiers - some of which are available from the start of the seasonal journey - are reminiscent of elements from The Division.
Crossroads also delivers new gear to unlock through season pass progression (including both free and paid rewards), as well as quality-of-life enhancements, better onboarding for new players, and an increase in season pass XP across all activities. A Division 2 Twitch Drops campaign is active to celebrate the launch of the DLC and new season, offering free in-game goodies for viewers who link their Ubisoft and Twitch accounts and fulfill the viewing requirements. A summer event is on the way as well, and you can learn more about it, as well as get in-depth details on the new gear and updates, on the official Division 2 website.
The Division 2 is available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Amazon Luna, and PC via Ubisoft Connect, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, as well as with a Ubisoft+ Premium subscription.
