350,000 Songs Will Be Played in Rocksmith Today

It turns out that 2015 was a pretty intense year for Rocksmith. The song library reached (and passed) the 750-song milestone, adding artists like
Tenacious D

Stone Temple Pilots

Breaking Benjamin

and Mötley Crüe

to the roster. The developers got to interview Metalocalypse creator Brendon Small

and jam with 12-year-old Japanese prodigy Audrey, who learned to play guitar exclusively using Rocksmith. And oh yeah, there was that time on Twitch that our notetracker Shane didn't blink for three and a half minutes. That was weird; maybe you had to be there. All in all, 2015 was a really good year for Rocksmith.

For us, the most interesting part of 2015 was seeing how Rocksmith was used by you, the players. For instance, you watched 14,000 hours of our weekly developer livestream – thanks for hanging out with us! You sent in 85,000 song requests, which gives us the info we need to add the songs you want. And while you may not have realized it, collectively, you played 128 million songs in Rocksmith in 2015 – which breaks down to an average of 352,784 every day. And when we look at the songs you played the most, it's a healthy mix of classic rock, metal, alternative, modern rock, and punk, which is just what we were hoping to see. We always try to provide a variety of genres and artists, because we know everybody out there is inspired by something different.

While you take a look at what else you did in 2015 in the graphic above, Studio San Francisco and the Rocksmith team are forging ahead into 2016. We continue to release new DLC every Tuesday (we added new songs from

A Perfect Circle

The Offspring

Megadeth

and The Doobie Brothers

in the last few weeks) and we're always open to your song suggestions via our official request app. (And if you didn't see our previous infographic, check it out, especially if you're curious about how your requests turn into Rocksmith DLC.) Let us know your thoughts below, keep practicing, and of course, stay tuned.
