Today, we’re happy to introduce Cypris Arntson as our Fan of the Season. She’s been an active and devoted member of our community for years, but today we wanted to highlight her passion for Rainbow Six Siege. You may have spotted her in our comment section, talking about her favourite operators and strats, or discussing the latest news and updates. You can also catch her uploading clips of her highlights on her Instagram account. When she’s not enjoying a round of Secure Area, you can find her collecting a wide variety of Ubisoft items and merch. As such, we figured we’d give her a unique piece to complete her collection: a custom Siege-themed wireless controller with a Zofia design on the front and her gamertag on the back. We’ve also sent her a FAM collector’s item as well as enough R6 Credits to acquire all the new content coming with Year 6.
We also got the chance to ask her a few questions to get to know her a little better.
How long would you say you have been a fan of Rainbow Six Siege for?
I first started playing around Operation Health!
How did you fall in love with Rainbow Six Siege? What are your fondest memories from playing?
I really enjoyed the games dynamic and the reliance on teamwork. It really brought me and my crew closer and allowed us to take the different skills to similar games! My favourite memory is teaching my new siege friends the operators and watching them test different play styles out.
You’ve told us that your favourite operator is Zofia. Can you explain why?
Zofia is a dynamic character. When I first started playing her, withstand was an ability that allowed my team members to focus on the objective while I was able to take care of myself. Her breach and concussion provide enough distraction for me and my friends to get a quick rush. I enjoy her guns as well!
If you could create your own operator, what would they look like? Where would they be from and what would their gadget be?
Before the announcement of Flores, new drone gadgets were coming to mind. Now possibly a sound disruption operator. A short sound wave to muffle the sounds of breaching walls or hatches. Another Canadian operator obviously!
Same question, but about maps. If you could create your own, what would it look like?
I've never put much thought into a map! I suppose a map with a good amount of rotation and not too open is good enough for me. Maybe something Greek!
How do you express your fandom in your everyday? Why do you choose to express it this way?
My family and friends know about my love for Siege and my parents love to watch. My friends and I are always talking about updates and our thoughts on patches. I like to hear how they view the changes.
Are there any other Ubisoft games that you play frequently?
I've enjoyed Ubisoft games for years, but my favourites are Assassin's Creed, Siege and Watch_Dogs.
What have video games taught you or how have they inspired you in life?
Games have taught me a lot of patience as well as reflexes; especially Siege. It can be discouraging but rewarding at the same time so sticking through it is really worth it. I've met some of my best friends through video games and the memories we made will last forever!
Why do you think others should play video games?
Games can be a great form of entertainment as well as a good stimulant for your brain. Obviously, it depends on what games you play, but a good game session can leave you feeling energetic or relaxed. The music, atmosphere, gameplay - all offer something for people of different avenues so there's something for everyone!
