The Rabbids Invade Roblox in “Rabbids: Takeover”

The Rabbids have invaded Robloxia in Rabbids: Takeover, available now on Roblox. Developed in partnership with the award-winning studio, Exclusible, Rabbids Takeover challenges players to attack or defend the weather machine in the city of Robloxia and features a total of eight different character classes, two maps which harken back to the history of Roblox with more coming after launch, and exactly the kind of chaos you’d expect from the Rabbids.

What is Rabbids Takeover?

Rabbids: Takeover is an asymmetrical combat game. Players will be randomly assigned to either the attacking team (the Rabbids) or the defending team (the Robloxians). The Rabbids’ will try their best to destroy the weather machine before it can complete its cycle and call forth the rain, while the Robloxians will do everything they can to keep the machine safe. Each round lasts five minutes and takes place on one of two maps, Roblox HQ or Cutlass Cove.

Through their usual buffoonery, chaos, and ineptitude, the Rabbids have found themselves transported to the city of Robloxia. Having fun and tearing it up in the city, they suddenly find their spirits dampened by the frequent rain and storms controlled by an ancient weather machine. Not wanting the fun to end, the Rabbids set their sights on destroying the machine and making sure it can’t rain on their parade. But the local Robloxians aren’t going to take this sitting down, and resolve to prevent the Rabbids from destroying their town and bringing an end to the much-needed regulation of their city’s weather.

Character Classes

Each team features four unique character classes, each of which comes with their own skills to aid them in the battle for Robloxia’s peace. You’ll be able to choose your class at the start of each round and each time you respawn into the fight. Robloxians will also be able to buy and use builds to aid them in battle and add a little fire power to their ranks, while Rabbids will be able to employ Rabbids bots to support them and unlock weapons in the washing machines scattered around the maps.

The Rabbids

  • The Fashionista – Gala is a paragon of style with a wardrobe to rival the rich and famous, and she is set on never having her outfit ruined by the wind and rain ever again. A support-class Rabbid, her spotlight ability shares her glowing radiance with those around her, healing them as she passes by. When she is hurt, a gaggle of Rabbid paparazzi will surround her to capture every dramatic gasp and fawn over her while attacking her enemies.
  • The Pet Owner – Malo is a fan of fluffy and fuzzy creatures (at least the ones who aren’t Rabbids). This bruiser-class Rabbid is joined by three little animal friends who will chomp at anyone who gets too close. He can also summon a large guard pet with a huge amount of health to his side to jump into the fray and devastate his enemies.
  • The Hacker – Scrap is a mysterious, dark-furred, alchemist-class Rabbid who causes everything he touches to spark, melt, or turn toxic. All his attacks deal additional poison damage, and he can hijack builds placed by the Robloxians to turn their own weapons against them. He wants to take the Weather Machine from the Robloxians, and whatever he wants to do with it can’t be good.
  • Mr. Robot – Ribbo is a bruiser-class, cardboard-clad Rabbid who has no idea how his thin armor protects him from damage, but it does. As an armored tank, he can be the center of any conflict and survive to tell the tale with his cardboard shielding protecting his soft, furry body. He can also emit a large radio shockwave which stuns nearby Robloxians for a brief time.

The Robloxians

  • Redwake – Rox Harlow is a swashbuckling adventurer with the sea in her bones. The bruiser-class pirate wields a razor-sharp cutlass and flintlock pistol, and she can really make a splash with her ultimate: remote-detonated TNT. But when seas get rough and she’s low on health, she takes a swig from her Pirate Pop to restore health, increase her run speed, and put the wind back in her sails.
  • Popshot – Lexi Vale is an artist of a different kind. Her medium? Paintballs! A shooter-class fighter with her trusty paintball gun, paint blaster, and paint mines, she’s sure to bring a splash of color to any encounter. Her ultimate paints the town red with a wide area effect paint launcher, damaging the Rabbids.
  • Ghostline – Emi Yoru is an assassin class ninja, born long ago and trained in a secluded dojo. With her dual katana dash and slice attack and her ranged ninja star launcher, she’s as deadly up close as she is from a distance. Her ultimate is a smoke bomb, making her invisible while increasing her speed and jump height by unlocking her ancient training.
  • Iron Ladle – Finn Molina is not just a chef; he’s famed across Robloxia for his culinary skills, but now he’s putting those skills to a different use. The gourmet support-class fighter can prepare treats with his piping bag to heal his friends and damage his enemies, while a shar whistle will summon his trusty moped to zoom around the map while mowing down his enemies. His ultimate cake drop sees him bake up a storm and share up to eight slices of cake to heal his teammates.

Maps and Locations

Players will be thrust into one of two locations to battle it out and defend or attack the weather machine. They can also kill time in the lobby by bouncing on trampolines, using the slides, purchasing skins, weapons, and builds, and more to come.

  • Robloxia – The well-known and beloved city of Robloxia. Players will be able to traverse the city in the coolest way possible – via skateboard, obviously – and find themselves splitting their time between the urban center of Robloxia surrounded by skyscrapers and construction equipment, or in the suburbs amongst the quaint houses and outdoor play areas. The weather machine sits at Roblox HQ, the oldest and most prominent building at the city’s center.
  • Cutlass Cove – Once tied to the legacy of Redwake, the now-deserted island served as the famed pirate’s outpost. The stranded galleon at its center stands as the only thing protecting the weather machine from the Rabbids. Players can scoot into battle on the shores via wheelbarrows, using palm trees and the walls of old fortifications for cover, traverse the inlet in canoes to reach the galleon at its center, or take the express route by jumping into cannons to blast right onto its decks.

Rabbids Takeover is available to play right now on Roblox, and you can follow the official social media pages on TikTok and Instagram to find out more, enter competitions, and keep up to date with future updates. If you can’t get enough of the madness, you can also grab two official Rabbids avatars on the Roblox Marketplace and be a Raving Rabbid in other Roblox experiences.
