Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Spartan Skill Available Now for Amazon Echo

Assassin's Creed fans can now enable and the new Assassin's Creed Odyssey Spartan Skill for Amazon Alexa. Developed alongside R/GA, the Spartan skill responds to your requests and questions with the voice and swagger of a true Spartan hero, Alexios. Starting today, Alexios can give you updates on the weather, tell you a joke, or add events to your calendar. On October 2 – the day Assassin's Creed Odyssey becomes available for players who pre-ordered the Gold Edition – the Spartan skill will receive all-new functionality as it aids players in their journey through ancient Greece by providing historical background information on various sites in Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

Alexios is similar to Alexa, but has a more Spartan-like attitude. Just open the skill by saying "Alexa, open The Spartan," and then ask any questions you might ask your usual Alexa-enabled device.

From there, your AI Spartan will respond to more than 1,500 prompts as only a Spartan would. Feel free to say "Hello" to be greeted with, "I am Alexios, the great Spartan warrior, here to bring honor to your suburban lives." Try asking, "What's the news?" and you might hear, "The sirens lured another ship to its doom. 45 sailors died happily." Or, if you'd like to get to know Alexios a bit better, ask him, "What's your favorite drink?" and he just might respond with, "The blood of my enemies. But during peacetime, a raspberry mojito."

Starting October 2, you can ask The Spartan to tell you more about certain in-game locations that you'll come across while exploring ancient Greece. Ask him to "Tell me about Epidaurus," and you'll find out that "Epidaurus was strategically placed between Athens and Argos as an entry point for pilgrims. They would travel from all over Greece to the nearby healing sanctuary of Asklepios." Alexios can provide additional information on more than 300 points of interest throughout Greece, so if you find yourself wanting to know more about the port town you just sailed by, just ask him. Learn more about the skill here: https://www.amazon.com/assassinscreed

The skill works with any model of Echo Device (Echo Plus, Echo Dot, Echo, Echo Spot, and Echo Show) but Ubisoft and R/GA has also produced a limited edition Amazon Echo Plus that resembles a Spartan helmet.

A limited number of these exclusive models will be given away for free. Interested participants can enter the sweepstakes by sharing the Assassin's Creed Odyssey Amazon Alexios video on Facebook. On October 9, five winners will be randomly selected for the grand prize and win the exclusive Assassin's Creed Odyssey Amazon Alexa. Assassin's Creed Odyssey launches on October 5 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. For more information, check out our previous coverage.
