Activision Blizzard Games on Ubisoft+: What You Need to Know
Earlier this year, Ubisoft announced an agreement with Microsoft that will grant Ubisoft the perpetual cloud-streaming rights for Call of Duty, all other current Activision Blizzard games, and those released over the next 15 years once Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard is complete. Ubisoft News sat down with Chris Early, Ubisoft's Senior Vice President of strategic partnerships and business development, to learn more about how the deal came to be and what Ubisoft+ subscribers can expect when the Activision Blizzard acquisition goes through.
Heroes of Might and Magic III Sails Into World of Warships
Later this month, the online multiplayer naval-combat game World of Warships will kick off its crossover with Ubisoft's Heroes of Might and Magic III. From October 18 to November 8, 10 heroes will make their way from Erathia to join the fight for naval dominance as Commanders. Additionally, a Heroes of Might and Magic III-themed map will be available in the armory.
Ubisoft Games Now Available for Standalone Purchase on Amazon Luna
To celebrate the launch of Assassin's Creed Mirage, Amazon Luna members can now buy Ubisoft games directly on the platform. To take advantage of this new feature, players must either subscribe to Amazon Prime or Luna+, then link their Ubisoft Connect account to Amazon Luna and find the game they want to play on the platform. Once purchased, the game will be available in their Amazon Luna library, as well as to download and play offline on PC through Ubisoft Connect.
Ubisoft+ Spotlight - Watch Dogs
(Editorial note: This is a series of quick weekly highlights written by Ubisoft News team writers that feature games available with a Ubisoft+ subscription. We hope you'll enjoy reminiscing with us, or perhaps discover something new.)
Brittany Spurlin, Writer/Editor: It's 2012, and Chicago has implemented the Central Operating System (ctOS), a new technology from the Blume company that connects every device in the city through a single network. In the role of hacker Aiden Pearce, your job is to stay under the radar as you track down those responsible for a family tragedy. With Aiden's hacker abilities, the whole city is your weapon as you search for answers, uncovering a conspiracy along the way.
As a game with hacking at its core, Watch Dogs puts the power to completely manipulate the world around you into the palm of your hand. Anything connected to ctOS - whether it's traffic lights, cell phones, or security systems - is yours to control, allowing you to trap enemies in a massive traffic jam, access citizens' private information (including bank accounts), shut down pesky security cameras, and so much more. Additionally, Watch Dogs' reputation system helps make the setting feel like a real, living city, as it represents the public's perception of Aiden and will affect their responses to his actions.
You can play Watch Dogs today with a Ubisoft+ subscription.
