Anno 2205 is a huge leap for the Anno franchise. For the first time, the series is leaving the relatively safe confines of Earth and heading outside of the atmosphere with multi-session gameplay and a modular building system. Explore and control the harsh environments of the moon and the frigid arctic as you build your cities and take on hostile forces in naval battles. But the development team isn't content to let the game end there, and they have just revealed plans for the two major expansions for the game (Tundra and Orbit), plus the first piece of free DLC, Wildwater Bay.
Tundra, the first of the two expansions, is scheduled for release at the end of February 2016, shortly after Wildwater Bay is released. Wildwater Bay will be available in January 2016 and will add a new temperate Earth session to the game. This will mark the biggest session in the game so far, with a large continental area and several islands.
"This will help you to acquire additional coastal and mountain slots," says Executive Producer Burkhard Ratheiser in a forum post. "In addition, a new sector project will be available where you can solve the riddle of the abandoned underwater cities and meet ghosts from the past."
There is also an upcoming patch that will focus on performance and optimization. You'll be able to learn more about the patch, as well as the DLC and expansions, very soon. Keep an eye on the official Anno 2205 forums for more details.
