Star Trek: Bridge Crew Brings the Starfleet Experience to Virtual Reality

Have you ever wanted to sit in the captain's chair of a Federation starship? Do you yearn to take the helm, target enemy vessels, or direct power where it's needed in the heat of battle? Coming to VR platforms this fall, Star Trek: Bridge Crew lets you take a crucial role on the USS Aegis, a new Starfleet ship sent to explore uncharted space in search of a new Vulcan homeworld. The twist is that you'll need to work together with a team of other players to keep the ship running smoothly as you take on missions and come into conflict with the Klingon Empire.

Developed exclusively for VR, Star Trek: Bridge Crew lets up to four players assume the roles of Captain, Helm, Tactical, and Engineer, and uses full-body avatars, hand tracking, and real-time lip-sync to give each player a convincing presence on the bridge. Teamwork and communication are crucial, as all four players need to rely on each other to choose objectives, steer the ship, analyze scan data, fire on targets, hack enemy shields, and cycle quickly between vital ship systems.

Primarily focused on multiplayer, Star Trek: Bridge Crew isn't just about short skirmishes or self-contained missions, and it follows a storyline that pushes players to master the Aegis' abilities while discovering new territory within a region of space known as The Trench. There's also an "Ongoing Missions" mode that procedurally generates new missions, and if you prefer to discover it all at your own pace, you can play solo, issuing orders to NPC crewmates as the Aegis' captain.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew is coming this fall for Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and PlayStation VR. Visit the official site for additional details.
