The 2.5D adventures that began in Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China continue today, set more than 300 years later and with a new Assassin at the helm. Shifting the perspective to Kashmiri Assassin Arbaaz Mir, Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India lets you dash through deadly traps and creep past guards while working to recover the Koh-i-Noor diamond from Templar clutches.
While it feels similar to Shao Jun's adventures in China, putting an emphasis on stealth and acrobatics, Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India introduces some new innovations, including Arbaaz's chakram – a bladed disc that can bounce off walls as it slices through ropes and enemies – and Prince of Persia-esque speed-run levels that introduce timed traps, crumbling handholds and (occasionally) rampaging elephants. You'll also be able to unlock standalone challenge rooms in the Animus that push you to beat intricate assassination and free-running missions as quickly as possible.
Each entry in Assassin's Creed Chronicles bases its look from the art of its setting, so in stark contrast to the previous chapter's earthier palette and ink-painting-inspired visuals, Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India bursts with bright colors, as sword slashes and blood spurts weave mural-inspired patterns through the air. It's a striking experience, and it's available now for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. It will also launch on April 5 for PlayStation Vita, along with Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China and Assassin's Creed Chronicles: Russia.
