For Honor – New Season and Hitokiri Hero Coming May 2

Year 3, Season 2 of For Honor – titled Sakura – is nearly here, and it's bringing with it a new dark Samurai Hero, the Hitokiri. Playable as either a female Hero (named Sakura) or a male Hero (Yato), the Hitokiri get their name from the word "manslayers." As ghostly warriors, the Hitokiri roam the land searching for criminals to execute with their deadly Masakari axe. On the battlefield, their mere presence spreads fear to any opponent foolish enough to confront them. The Hitokiri will be immediately playable for Year 3 Pass owners when the new season launches on May 2; all other players will be able to purchase the Hero with in-game steel starting May 9.

In addition to the new Hero, Year 3 Season 2 will introduce improvements to the Lawbringer and Raider, as well as a new map, Canopy. These updates will be free for all players starting May 2. For an early peek at what's to come in the new season, tune into the Warrior's Den livestream on April 25 at 9AM PDT.

The Hitokiri is the latest addition to the For Honor Hero roster, which earlier this year saw the release of the Black Prior. For more, check out our previous For Honor coverage.
