A free Steam demo is now available for Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era, as announced during the Heroes of Might and Magic 30th Anniversary Celebration. The demo features four playable factions, including the new Schism faction, as well as a tutorial and three game modes. With multiple map templates to explore and an arena mode for a quick combat session, there is plenty of adventuring to be had and no playtime limit in the demo. Wishlist Olden Era on Steam and you'll be notified when it enters Early Access in 2026.
The Celebration also included a host of announcements, features, and guest appearances from projects and people throughout the HOMM community. From the 30th Anniversary Retrospective book and the Legacy of Heroes documentary, to community artwork, tournaments, and concerts, there were games aplenty (board, card, tabletop!) and lots of warm nostalgic vibes for the beloved series. The Heroes Orchestra is a Polish symphony orchestra dedicated to arranging music from videogames and bringing it to life in performances. They have a special focus on Heroes of Might and Magic, and to celebrate the 30th Anniversary, they have recorded a special concert featuring the top ten community-voted tracks from the franchise. Competitive Heroes of Might and Magic III is alive and well at H3.gg, a community organization that runs regular tournaments and helps players organize their own. To commemorate this momentous anniversary, H3.gg has been running a 30th Anniversary Cup for the past month, and the finals will be broadcast on the Ubisoft Twitch channel on October 10. Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Board Game Bringing Three New Expansions
Archon Studio has launched a board game that captures the epic adventuring, town-building, hero-leveling, and combat from Heroes of Might and Magic III. Seven of the original factions are already available, with three more recently funded and on their way to backers.
