Rainbow Six Siege Rengoku Event Live Now with More Operators and Kunai

Rengoku, the ninja-themed Rainbow Six Siege event that debuted with Operation Demon Veil in 2022, has returned, and this time it’s bringing some more Operators to the mix, along with new gadgets and abilities to help carry your team to victory as you fight to secure Altars in the Floating Temple (a reworked version of the Skyscraper map). The event is live now on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Amazon Luna, and will run until July 19.

In addition to last year’s lineup, Hibana, Grim, Mozzie, and Valkyrie are joining the rosters of Possessed and Devoted, bringing the total selectable characters for each team to seven. They’re also bringing new Kunai, special throwing knives with gadget-like properties. Depending on how they’re thrown, Kunai can one-shot an opponent, take out a large chunk of wall, or activate special area-of-effect attacks akin to frag grenades, flashbangs, or Molotovs. This year, two new Kunai types join the mix, with new effects based on Grim’s Kawan Hive Launcher and Thorn’s Razorbloom Shell.

Rather than splitting teams into Attackers and Defenders, Rengoku throws teams of five players into a Control the Points match, with respawns enabled. All Operators have the same speed and health, and wield shotguns in addition to the aforementioned Kunai. All Operators can also climb through hatches, and so the map has been slightly reworked to feature more of these. At the start of each match, three Altars are activated and will change location every two minutes. To capture them and earn favor, players just need to stay in the same room as an Altar without interference from the opposing team.

All 14 Operators come with exclusive skins, which are also available in Collection Bundles (along with weapon skins and Operator Card Portraits) for purchase with Renown or R6 Credits. Additionally, any player connecting to the game during the event will receive a free Collection Pack, and can earn additional packs by completing weekly challenges.
