For Honor announced its new season, Ubisoft's RADAR investment fund kicked off its inaugural application period, and Rainbow Six Siege and Roller Champions began new competitive seasons. Check out this week's roundup of Ubisoft News:
Curse of the Scarab, For Honor's New Season, Out June 16
For Honor Year 6 Season 2, Curse of the Scarab, is set to launch on June 16. After misusing stolen relics, Bolthorn accidentally released the Curse of the Scarab on Heathmoor. In a season inspired by Egyptian mythology, For Honor will gain new lore, a Hero Skin for the Raider, a Battle Pass update, a three-part short story titled "Sands of Ruin," and more.
Applications are now open for Ubisoft RADAR, an investment fund of $10 million that will support indie game studios in the Quebec region. Olivier Delisle, Ubisoft's entrepreneur accelerator director, sat down with Ubisoft News to give his insights on how the project got started, how it works, and why Quebec is the perfect environment in which to launch it.
Rainbow Six European League Stage 2
The Six Charlotte Major is over, where DarkZero emerged victorious. Now, Stage 2 of the Rainbow Six Esports European League begins. The tournament runs June 20 to August 1, and will be livestreamed on Twitch and YouTube.
Umi Bowl Tournament
Roller Champions esports have arrived. Hosted by Infinity League of Eternal Champions (LEC) and supported by Ubisoft, the Umi Bowl 2022 is the first NA tournament for the sportsgame. Teams of three will compete in a double elimination bracket for a share of the prize pool. The two-day tournament will start June 11 at 10:30 AM PT.
Ubisoft+ Spotlight - From Dust
(Editorial note: This is a series of quick weekly highlights written by our News team writers that feature games available with a Ubisoft+ subscription. We hope you'll enjoy reminiscing with us, or perhaps discover something new.)
Chris Watters, Editorial Communications Manager: Wielding the powers of a god in From Dust can be a heady experience. As you gather up earth and water into a floating orb called The Breath, you can move it and pour it out at your whim, shaping the landscape and creating havens for the tribe of intrepid human settlers you are shepherding. Watching their villages grow and spread greenery makes you feel magnanimous; look how they prosper under your guidance! But you are not an omnipotent god, and the laws of nature still govern the way water flows, the way earth settles, and the way lava burns - which is not always quite the way you might like. And don't get me started on tsunamis! Each level of From Dust presents new problems for your flock, and as you attempt to solve them, new ones crop up and put your elemental mastery to the test. Staying one step ahead is an engaging challenge in this god game, and I consider it one of the hidden gems of the Ubisoft+ catalog.
