Rainbow Six Siege's Wasteland Circuit is live now through October 13, inviting you to test your drone racing skills. The event takes place in an alternative timeline where Operators have to make their own fun in a post-apocalyptic future. The Wasteland Circuit features thrilling gameplay that lets you fight your fellow racers, three unique tracks, and can't miss bundles to give your Operators, weapons, and drones a special look.
Wasteland Circuit Gameplay
Each race will have 10 players vying for the top spot on the leaderboard, and a match consists of three races, which last until someone wins or a five-minute timer elapses. In a free-for-all Grand Prix style race, you'll need to hone your skills on two wheels as you navigate the twists and turns of the track with your drone. There will also be opportunities for you to attack other players – but watch your back in case they do the same to you.
There will be items scattered around the racetrack for you to pick up, buffing your gameplay or giving you a chance to knock opponents back:
- EMP Shot – Blinds other players and disables Pests. Applies Stalled
- Boom Shot – Applies Knockback, which pushes back players, and destroys items and destructible walls
- Pest Trap – sets a trap that stops players, applying Stalled
- Inferno Snare – Projectile that drops a pool of fire. While in the fire, players cannot boost. Applies snared
- System Recovery – While active, players are immune to other items. When activated, it cleanses previous status effects
- High Voltage Jump – When activated, the boost bar won’t spend energy for 10 seconds
- High Voltage Boost – When activated, players can jump with no cooldown for 10 seconds
There are also three Showstopper items, designed to shake up the racing lineup, helping those who trail behind sabotage those ahead.
- Lightning Generator - When activated, all other players are stopped for two seconds. Only available to players in the last three positions.
- Black Out Generator – When activated, all other players are blinded for three seconds. Only available to players in the last three positions
- Deathmark – When activated, the player in the first position is affected by slow for three seconds. Only available to players in the last three positions
As you drive, you can also pick up Boosts, which increases your drone's maximum speed up to 2 (from 0.3). The amount of boost you get from this pickup is determined by your position in the race:
- 1st place – 25% boost
- 2nd – 4th places – 50% boost
- 5th – 7th places – 75% boost
- 8th – 10th places – 100% boost
The Map
There are three tracks to race on, all taking place in a heavily modified version of Rainbow Six Siege's Oregon map:
- Ghost Town – Designed to give you a big wow feeling, this track is easy to drive with straight lines, creating many opportunities to fight other players
- Underbelly – A shorter track designed to be chaotic, item pickups are going to be your key to success when a minor mistake can make you fall back several spots
- Airplane Boneyard – A longer race with multiple twists, this track was designed with verticality in mind
As you pass opponents, pick up items, and master the track turns, you'll notice other things to interact with on the map:
- Jump Pads – Sends your drone on a fixed path at a fixed speed from point A to B
- Gas Pipes – Sitting low across pathways, these can be destroyed with an Explosive Blast. When detonated, it applies Pushback and the Overheated status effect
- Barbed Wires – Applies the Slowed status effect
Additionally, in true Rainbow Six Siege fashion, you can make use of destructible walls and floors to discover shortcuts and new pathways.
In-Game Bundles and Rewards
For some added flair, you can race in the style of some of your favorite Operators with exclusive in-game bundles. Each Operator bundle comes with a unique Headgear, Uniform, Drone Skin, and two weapon skins. Available bundles include:
- IQ
- Mozzie
- Brava
- Twitch
You can also get the Wasteland Circuit Signature Bundle, which gives you gear to use no matter what Operator you like to play: a universal weapon skin, an attachment skin, a charm, a drone skin, and an Operator background. There's also a Weapon and Drone Skin Bundle available, giving you exciting new looks for the MP5SD, Bearing 9, Supernova, and your drone.
