After a thorough Alpha phase, we're delighted to announce that
we're finally ready for the next stage in our testing plan: the
launch of the EndWar Online's Beta! Starting today, version 0.6.0.
will go live on a brand new server: BRAVO. Let's take a look under
the hood and examine some of the new content.
Reporting For Duty
For each faction, two new Rank 3 Commanders have been added - one
Air Intercept and one Drone. These new Commanders introduce unique
tactics and weapons to enable players to try and develop totally
different battle strategies that surprise their opponents.
Whereas Jet Fighters
perform a flying pattern around a designated area, seeking any
incoming flying threat and creating disturbances to hinder the
progress and effectiveness of other units with intensive lures and
counter measures, the new Air Intercept Commanders are designed
around the idea of Combat Air Patrol. These Commanders are ideal
when facing a situation where you need to protect a group of units,
by luring and diverting the enemy. The new Drone Commanders'
units come equipped with long-range laser guided missiles. These
missiles can target multiple units at the same time from afar, and
unlike the other Drones, they can target all unit types - not just
buildings and structures. It's definitely a destructive weapon but
here's the catch: Unlike the other Drones, they will only attack at
the player's request, so they require more micro-management.
Challenge Yourself
With version 0.6.0, we're introducing a brand new PvE mode: Special
Operations. This mode consists of 75 new missions split into three
types of challenges: Ground Units, Air Units and Combined Units
that rotate, and open or close according to a weekly schedule.
We designed this mode to
add more variety to the single-player campaign, and offer new
challenges to the players by tweaking the battle scenarios and
victory conditions. What if you had to win this battle using only
tanks? What if you have to capture all uplinks? Maybe you need to
destroy all units of a particular class? Although Special
Operations missions can be quite challenging, they are also
extremely rewarding, as they allow players to secure rare
high-level blueprints for unit upgrades that are very hard to
obtain through other modes.
Fortress Upgrade
Since its introduction in version 0.4.0, Fortress - Endwar Online's
asynchronous PvP mode where players fight for daily leaderboard
dominance - has been extremely popular, thanks to the intense and
fierce competition it fosters. However, because of its unusual set
of rules, many players haven't been able to enjoy the fun
experience this mode has to offer. That's something we hope to fix
in 0.6.0 with a much improved presentation that focuses on clear
player rankings and easier opponent selection.
Choose Not to Choose
Before 0.6.0, when you started a game in Endwar Online, you had to
pledge your allegiance to a faction and forget about ever playing
the other faction unless you were ready to start again from
scratch. With the new version, we're now letting players play two
General characters from the same account, meaning they can play
both the European and Russian campaigns if they feel like it. There
is one requirement, though: You'll have to fight your way up to
Player Level 20 to unlock the second character slot.
It's Not Over Till It's Over
To celebrate the opening of our new server, BRAVO, and the release
of our first beta, we've prepared a host of in-game events with
high-value rewards for all players, whether they're new to the game
or battle-hardened vets. Complete the various objectives within the
time limit to secure the rewards and improve your army. More beta
testers will be invited in the coming weeks, so if you feel like
starting your career as a general now to help us build the best
strategy game, you can still enlist at www.endwaronline.com and take a chance at the daily
lucky draw to win your direct access to the beta. For more details
on how to join the beta, the new content, and launch events, visit
the official
EndWar Online website.
