Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is out now, letting you play as a Na'vi and explore a never-before seen continent: the Western Frontier. This new land is vast and varied, with a ton of exploration opportunities - so what do Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora's developers think players must do once they jump in? We sat down with Creative Director Magnus Jansén and Senior Narrative Designer Chella Ramanan to get their personal recommendations.
Skull and Bones is officially launching on February 16, 2024, for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PC through the Epic Games Store and the Ubisoft Store, and Amazon Luna. You'll have the chance to grow from outcast to kingpin on the high seas by building your Infamy, completing contracts for different factions, and expanding your fleet of ships. Once you gain enough power, you'll be able to start and run your own pirate lair and black-market network. If you can't wait for launch to sail the seas, be sure to register for the upcoming Closed Beta, which will run from December 15-18.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is coming to Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and PC through the Epic Games Store and the Ubisoft Store on January 18, and will be available on January 15 for those with a Ubisoft+ subscription. However, if you're looking for a chance to try out the Metroidvania-inspired 2.5D action early, a free demo will be available on January 11 for all platforms.
Just Dance 2024 Edition is partnering with Disney to bring the Disney Magical Time season to the game from December 12 to February 20. The season will give all players free access to selected songs from popular Disney animated movies like Aladdin, Hercules, Moana, Frozen, Tangled, Mulan, and more, as well as new playlists and a new progression track with 25 rewards to unlock.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora lets you play as a Na'vi who awakens on Pandora years after being abducted as a child and raised by the human militaristic corporation known as the RDA. In the video above, Senior Narrative Designer Chella Ramanan, Creative Director Magnus Jansén, Associate Game Director Drew Rechner, and Narrative Coordinator Jennifar Bartram discuss working with experts at Lightstorm Entertainment to craft a brand-new Avatar story while remaining true to the Avatar universe.
On December 5, Rocksmith+ added a new instrument to the music-learning app: the piano. In addition to acoustic, electric, and bass guitar, players can now use their piano or keyboard to learn how to play using a library of over 7,000 songs from popular artists. This month, Rocksmith+ also added songs by Coldplay, Paramore, and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers to its library.
Ubisoft+ Spotlight - Prince of Persia
(Editorial note: This is a series of quick weekly highlights written by Ubisoft News team writers that feature games available with a Ubisoft+ subscription. We hope you'll enjoy reminiscing with us, or perhaps discover something new.)
Brittany Spurlin, Writer/Editor: When Prince of Persia launched in 2008, it was a fresh start for the series, featuring a new world to explore, new gameplay, and a new Prince as the protagonist. An otherwise unnamed warrior, the Prince teams up with Elika, an Ahuran princess, to restore a world destroyed by corruption in a war between the gods of light and darkness. Prince of Persia is filled with action-packed platforming exploration, deadly combat with Ahriman's corrupted lieutenants, and Ahuran magic that helps the Prince perform acrobatic feats throughout the game.
The title was the first open-world game in the Prince of Persia franchise, giving players a newfound ability to freely explore and experience a non-linear story. They can choose the order in which the Prince and Elika purge darkness from different regions of the land, which involves avoiding traps, traversing temples, and defeating enemies, eventually trapping the god of darkness himself - but at a terrible cost. It's a game that made us think long and hard about free will and destiny, and what sacrifices are worth saving the world.
You can play Prince of Persia today with a Ubisoft+ subscription.
