Far Cry 4 - Original Soundtrack

Quick: What do the Red Hot Chili Peppers have in common with the
icy cold Himalayan peaks? The answer is Cliff Martinez. The Rock
and Roll Hall of Famer is not only a former member of the Chili
Peppers but also the composer for Far Cry 4's original soundtrack.
Martinez - who also
composed scores for films including Traffic, Spring
Breakers and Drive - worked with Far Cry 4's Music
Designer Jerome Angelot, Music Supervisor Simon Landry and Audio
Director Tony Gronick to craft an original score befitting the
majestic mountaintops that frame the deadly surroundings and
capture the ruthless characters who live (and die) in the fictional
war-torn nation of Kyrat. "Bringing Cliff on board was a
no-brainer," said Gronick. "Collaborating with him was a dream. He
has the remarkable ability to portray compelling emotions and
elevate the mundane into extraordinary with his musical talent."
Far Cry 4 will be available worldwide on November 18, but fans can
start listening to the game's music even sooner, with the worldwide
release of The Far Cry 4 Original Game Soundtrack digital edition
on November 4. A limited two-CD edition will release on December 2
in North America and on December 9 in Europe, and the limited
three-LP edition will release in January 2015. "It was an honor to
be asked to write the music for the Far Cry 4 game as my first
full-length videogame soundtrack," said Martinez. "It was exciting
for me to be asked to take my usual minimalistic cinematic approach
to the immersive game world. Any game where you can ride on a
rampaging elephant is a project you can't turn down!" "Cliff
delivered everything I hoped for," Gronick added. "I'm so proud of
the music in Far Cry 4 and am thankful for the opportunity to work
