Steve Buscemi Joins FX’s Far Cry

Steve Buscemi is the latest to join FX’s Far Cry cast, joining Rob Mac (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Welcome to Wrexham, Mythic Quest) and Lizzie Caplan (Mean Girls, Fleishman is in Trouble, Masters of Sex). The anthology series, inspired by the world of Ubisoft’s FARCRY, will feature an original story, and each season will feature a new location and a new cast of characters. The video game series, which has over 100 million players to date, is known for its inventive first-person shooter action, organic open world playgrounds, unique stories, and memorable antagonists.

Buscemi is one of the most memorable actors in cinematic history, starring in films like Reservoir Dogs, Fargo, The Big Lebowski, and The Death of Stalin. He is also a prolific television star with leading roles in Boardwalk Empire and The Sopranos, and memorable appearances in 30 Rock and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. He has eight Emmy nominations for his acting work on Boardwalk Empire and his directing work on The Sopranos, and he won the Emmy for Best Short Form Variety Series in 2016 for Park Bench with Steve Buscemi.

The Far Cry series is executive produced by Noah Hawley (Fargo, Alien: Earth) through his 26 Keys production banner, and Rob Mac through More Better Productions. The series is also executive produced by Simon Emanuel and Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys; Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts; Monica Macer, Peter Calloway, and John Campisi; and Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill from Ubisoft Film & Television. The series will be produced by FX productions.
