Rainbow Six Mobile – Operation Gray Phantom: New Operator, Limited-Time Modes, and More

Rainbow Six Mobile’s Operation Gray Phantom is live now, and it’s delivering a new Operator, limited-time modes, special events, and more.

Game Director Olivier Albarracin shares what makes this season so special. “Gray Phantom is a fun season. We’re actually tying some lore into what’s happening, and it’s about Finka. As we know, she grew up near Chernobyl and has radiation sickness, and she’s going to infiltrate a contamination zone. Around mid-season, there’s going to be a big event called Veil Protocol inspired by her backstory.”

New Operator: Finka

The popular Attacker is joining the ranks, revving up gameplay and helping to keep her team’s momentum up. Her nanite-fueled Adrenal Surge ability boosts allies in the heat of combat, giving a quick HP buff, stabilizing aim, and getting teammates out of DBNO. Her presence on the field rewards aggressive, coordinated, and decisive combat, especially for teams that strike quickly and stay on the move.

“We decided to add Finka to spice up gameplay and help Attackers become more offensive,” shares Albarracin. “We’ve seen Defenders trending towards using more traps and less roaming, and Attackers were having some struggles as well. So, adding her is a way for the attacking team to push themselves and become a bit more aggressive.”

Limited-Time Modes

Finka Showcase – Week 1

“The community loves 3v3 and 2v2 modes, so we’re regularly bringing them back,” says Albarracin. “For this one, players can try out Finka for free and see if they want to invest in her.”

This 3v3 Bomb event is one that lets you play as Finka for free, highlighting the Attacker’s impact on a map centered on tight spaces and frequent skirmishes. The mission is simple: Attackers race to defuse a bomb, while Defenders attempt to protect it until detonation. The Finka Showcase will rotate between a few maps and will feature pre-selected Operators.

3v3 Bomb – Week 2

The explosive fun continues in Gray Phantom’s second week with the 3v3 Bomb event. Designed for fast-paced action and high-intensity rounds, team coordination matters more than ever. This mode features rapid rotations and high pressure from the opening moments through the final defuse attempt.

Veil Protocol – Weeks 3, 4, and 5

Veil Protocol is a PvE mode set on a contaminated Oregon map where an infection is spreading, distorting signals and obscuring visibility. Containment protocols have been initiated, and players will still have use of their Operator’s gadgets as well as infinite respawns to take on the challenge.

“It’s basically an infected mode where you have Finka’s team trying to infiltrate the site, and tech ops defending it,” says Albarracin. “And the whole game mode is kind of spooky; it’s very gray, with lots of fog, and is basically a tactical horde-infected mode.”

Ranked Updates

“We’ve seen this community group together and focus more on competition since the global launch,” says Albarracin. “And matchmaking is something that always comes up from the community, and we have a few big changes to matchmaking coming this season and in the next one.”

These matchmaking updates are largely focused on making sure ranked levels are more equally balanced, making the experience fair, competitive, and enjoyable for all players. Additionally, the House map has been added to the ranked rotation. Hone your skills and climb through the ranks to earn the Hibana Hooded Royalty skin!

New Battle Pass

A new season means a new Battle Pass, and Operation Gray Phantom’s Battle Pass is filled with new cosmetics, progression rewards, and an instant, permanent unlock for Finka. Additionally, thanks to community feedback, the Battle Pass is now available on the Ubisoft Store web page as well as in the app.
