Rainbow Six Tactics Revealed: A Turn-Based Tactical Experience

Rainbow Six Tactics was announced at gamescom Opening Night Live, giving a first look at a new chapter in the Rainbow Six universe. Taking place in conjunction with Rainbow Six Siege’s timeline, a new global threat has pushed the organization to operate on a broader strategic scale. Rainbow Six Tactics is a single-player, turn-based tactical experience that puts you in the shoes of Six, the leader of the elite Rainbow squad. From choosing a high-stakes assignment to strategizing at HQ to tactical field execution, you’re in command.

Rainbow Six Tactics will include:

  • 15 Operators, each with unique abilities, specialized gadgets, and distinct skill trees
  • Distinct mission types, including Hostage Rescue, Bomb Disposal, and Target Elimination
  • Over 45 diverse locations around the world

Each mission brings its own unique challenges and opportunities, so preparation and strategization will be crucial to success before deploying to the field. From HQ, you’ll be able to assess intelligence, assign up to four Operators to your squad based on what their unique abilities will bring to the mission at hand, and decide on your plan of attack. Once in the field, your Operators will need to combine their abilities, recon tools, gadgets, and iconic Rainbow Six destructible environments to come away victorious. Experiment with different squad combinations to find the team composition that suits your playstyle, and the mission at hand, the best.

In the field, turn-based combat can show just how the best laid plans can go awry. Prepare for every possible scenario to help make any tactical improvisation a success. Don’t forget to break walls to open new lines of sight, remove enemy cover, or create a new point of entry as the situation evolves.

Rainbow Six Tactics breaks formation with and brings the Siege mindset to traditional turn-based combat with its Breach Planning mode. With Breach, you can plan coordinated actions for your active squad, executing synchronized assaults in the field. This feature lets you blow enemies away in a single move that brings momentum and high-intensity gameplay to your mission.

Between missions, you’ll be able to upgrade your base of operations, train Operators, and strengthen your team’s capabilities before the next deployment.

Wishlist Rainbow Six Tactics today for PS5, Xbox Serie X|S, GeForce Now, Blacknut, and PC through the Ubisoft Store, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
