Ubisoft+ Spotlight - Rayman Origins
(Editorial note: This is a series of quick weekly highlights written by Ubisoft News team writers that feature games available with a Ubisoft+ subscription. We hope you'll enjoy reminiscing with us, or perhaps discover something new.)
Brittany Spurlin, Writer/Editor: The Glade of Dreams needs your help! Rayman, Globox, and a couple of Teensies are just trying to take a nap with the Bubble Dreamer when they inadvertently disturb an old woman in the Land of the Livid Dead, causing an invasion of Darktoons in the Glade. Now, Rayman and his buddies need to travel through the realms in the Glade of Dreams to free Electoons and heal the Bubble Dreamer. The cartoonish journey that ensues is full of Nightmares, Nymphs to rescue, Kings to free, and a shocking betrayal (plus a bonus boss for those who collect all 10 red teeth).
Rayman Origins is a return to the original game's side-scrolling roots, bolstered by the updated tech of 2011. The 2D animation is bright and colorful, giving the game a unique look that also sparks nostalgia for the older titles. The game also has a fun trick of moving players - or enemies - to the foreground or background of a level, giving the run a 3D feel while sticking to its two-dimensional roots. With over 60 levels in the Glade, Rayman Origins keeps engaging content flowing. The gameplay is just as zany as the story sounds, with Rayman leaping up walls, riding steam vents, piloting mosquitos, and more. Plus, Rayman Origins is the first game in the series to have co-op multiplayer, letting up to four friends fight through the Glade together. You can play Rayman Origins today on PC with a Ubisoft+ subscription.
