Alpha Packs are now available in Rainbow Six Siege on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The new feature, added in the recent 2.1.1 update, gives players a chance to win cosmetic items (charms, weapon skins, headgear, etc.), and can be obtained through two methods: chance rolls after ranked or casual match wins, or purchased with Renown (which can be earned just by playing matches) through the shop. Purchase via R6 Credits, Rainbow Six Siege's premium currency, will come sometime in the future.
Every cosmetic item has been assigned a value of common, uncommon, rare, epic, or legendary, which will affect players' chances of earning that item from the Alpha Pack. There are over 1,000 items available at launch, but additional items will be added and removed over time. If a player receives a duplicate item, they will receive Renown based on that item's rarity.
Additionally, players that own the Year 2 Pass will not only receive a VIP discount on Alpha Pack purchases, but will also receive a small amount of additional "chance" to help them earn additional Packs.
