For Honor Hero Series Duel Tournament Starts This Summer

Sharpen your blades and practice your emote timing, warriors, because this summer marks the kick-off of the For Honor Hero Series, a Duel tournament organized by Ubisoft in partnership with ESL. The first Hero Series is open to For Honor players on PS4, PC, and Xbox One, and will start on July 8 with weekly 1v1 duel tournaments. Those interested in participating can register on the For Honor Hero Series page.

Players from regions around the world will be selected based on overall tournament standings, and 16 of the best of the best will convene in Burbank, CA on August 12 where three platform champions will be crowned and win their share of $10,000 in cash prizes. This live event will be broadcasted on the For Honor Twitch channel, For Honor's Facebook page, and Ubisoft's YouTube channel.

In conjunction with the For Honor Hero Series, those who have the skills to analyze the battlefield can submit a For Honor caster audition clip. One of the casters from the competition will be chosen and flown to Burbank to join the For Honor casting team and shoutcast the live event. Audition clips can be submitted here.

The For Honor Hero Series isn't the only way that For Honor will be creating opportunities for competitive play in the future. Ranked mode is coming in a future update and will initially bring on-demand tournaments for Duel. A future update will expand ranked play to Brawl tournaments and ranked 4v4 matches in Elimination and Dominion. Each mode will have its own ranking system, and in addition to bragging rights, players also stand to win legendary loot for their performance. Interested players will soon be able to get a sneak peek at ranked mode with a second public test sessions for Duel Tournaments, which will also include changes to the defensive meta, on July 27. This test is available to all PC players.

For Honor is out now for the Xbox One, PC, and PS4. For more on the heroes and combat strategies of For Honor, check out the UbiBlog's previous coverage.
