The Division 2 – Snowball Launcher and Hardcore Mode Beta Coming Dec. 10

A dash of holiday cheer in the form of a free Santa hat (and some complementary gear caches) is being deployed to Agents who log in to The Division 2 between December 10 and January 7. During the Situation: Snowball holiday event, which coincides with the launch of Title Update 6.1 (building upon the extensive changes of Title Update 6), players can also hunt down elusive enemies wearing Santa hats who, when defeated, will drop a new weapon that shoots snowballs.

The Silent Night apparel event begins on December 10 as well, bringing new cosmetic gear items, including a free apparel cache key for anyone who logs in during the event (plus an additional three free keys for Year One Pass holders).

Title Update 6.1 also marks the beta release of a new Hardcore mode designed to put your skills and survivability to the test. Start a game in this mode and you won’t be able to respawn if you are killed. Death brings a permanent end to your run, so having a buddy or three along to provide medical support is even more valuable as you take on this new challenge.

The Division 2 is available now on PC, Xbox One, and PS4, and is included in a UPLAY+ subscription. For more on the latest free updates, like Episode 2 – Pentagon: The Last Castle, check out our Division 2 news hub.
