Operation Burnt Horizon is out now, kicking off Year 4 of Rainbow Six Siege by taking players to Australia and introducing two new Operators and one free new map. Year 4 Pass owners have seven days of exclusive access to the new Operators, after which all other players can unlock them with Renown or R6 credits. Additionally, Burnt Horizon introduces a host of Operator-balancing updates, general tweaks and improvements, and a Newcomer playlist to help players under level 50 learn the basics of the game. For a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of Operation Burnt Horizon, check out the video below, and read on for more.
Hailing from the SASR Mobility Platoon, Gridlock and Mozzie are joining Team Rainbow with gadgets that mix up the roles traditionally covered by Attackers and Defenders. Gridlock brings her Trax Stingers to the attacking team, which allow her to deploy clusters of spikes to damage and slow down defenders, denying them easy passage through the map. On the flip side, Mozzie uses his Pest Launcher to gain control of the Attackers' drones, so that he and the defending team can use them to their advantage.
The new map, Outback, is located on a lonely, desolate road in the middle of the vast Australian wilderness. This one-stop shop is comprised of a garage, a restaurant, and a hotel that have been joined together for your breaching and defending convenience.
